Dr. Dockery is dedicated to helping individuals navigate their challenges with compassion and understanding. With 14 years of experience in counseling, he specializes in Christian Counseling, addiction, and co-occurring disorders, ensuring that every person he works with feels supported on their journey. His extensive educational background, which includes two master’s degrees from Impact University and a doctorate from North Central Theological Seminary, equips him with the knowledge necessary to foster growth and healing.
Dr. Dockery is a counselor who embraces a person-centered approach, prioritizing each client’s experiences and aspirations. He is a professional guide who listens attentively and collaborates with his clients to develop meaningful solutions. His credentials as a Board-Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and other certifications reflect his commitment to providing high-quality care tailored to the specific needs of those he serves. Dr. Dockery has experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults.
Beyond his formal roles, Dr. Dockery is passionate about positively impacting his community. His work with the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission’s Life Builders program emphasizes his dedication to empowering individuals on their recovery journeys. He founded Family Life Counseling as the Pastor and Clinical director, a nonprofit center that supports families in crisis and addresses substance misuse issues.
Additionally, he created Celebrate Recovery of North Winston Salem, a welcoming space for individuals to find strength in community and connection. In his private practice, Aspire 2 Inspire Counseling, LLC, located in Clemmons, North Carolina, Dr. Dockery provides personalized care that respects and uplifts each client’s unique story. His holistic approach integrates spiritually focused Christian counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and anxiety related to addiction and compulsive behaviors, support for substance misuse, and guidance through grief and parenting challenges. He emphasizes a Co-Occurring Capacity approach and ensures clients receive comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment, helping clients navigate complex situations such as DWI incidents and failed drug screenings while working as CDL holders in safety-sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation, as well as other challenges they may face.
Dr. Dockery’s pursuit of becoming an NC Licensed Practicing Pastoral Counselor further demonstrates his commitment to offering holistic support and spiritual care. Above all, he strives to create a safe, nurturing environment where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and find hope for the future.
